Touch screens

Description:
A touch screen is an input device where the user touches the screen of the device to select the desired option. The layout of touch screen devices is so that the user can easily touch each option without pressing another, this usually means that each button on the screen is of a fairly large size so that the user can clearly read what the option is and can easily select it, the buttons are often separated by large gaps so that the user does not select the wrong item by mistake. A touch pad is a manually operated as the user has to operate the system.

Scenario	Describe use
In a school	In a school a touch screen would be used because it will mean that younger children that can not use a computer will be able to press buttons on the screen. A touch screen does not require a keyboard or other output devices which a computer needs this is an advantage because these items could be stolen or broken.
In a business office	A touch screen would work because presentations could be easily produced, also during the presentation the operator can easily add comments and additional information on to the presentation. A disadvantage is that the presentation may not have as much animation if it as constructed on a touchscreen alone.
In health care	Touch screen can be used in health care will be used because they can be portable devices e.g.tablets such as the ipad, blackberry playbook etc.... This will be useful because information can easily be taken from room to room.
In travel industry	A touch screen would be used in the travel industry because touch screens are more user friendly then a laptop or computer this makes it ideal to have a timetable and routes. Also touch screens could be used when buying tickets because touch screens have a clear and easy to use GUI.
